Cosmic Forces at Work in the World

There is no rabbit hole I won't jump down to discover more about sanctuary.

My quest to investigate the relationship we have to our built environment has led to a complete revolution in my world—everything from my philosophy of life to how I start my day, to my goals and aspirations for the future.

One of those goals that has surfaced was to further my education, and that has led me serendipitously to the class that I am in right now as I seek my Master's degree: Archetypal Astrology.

WOW!!! Who gets to take a class like this??!! Of course, I shouldn't be too surprised that my school offers such things. Their mission statement is to shape the leadership necessary for profound, progressive transformation of social institutions and individual consciousness—reimagining the humans species as a mutually enhancing member of the Earth community.

Reimagining the human species sounds kind of good after watching the political antics in the news this week, doesn’t it?

Anyway, I always thought of astrology as a prediction column in a newspaper or magazine. But what I’m studying is far different. It’s about the archetypal qualities associated with the planets and their transits. Throughout human history, there are certain planetary alignments that seem to regularly coincide with particularly volatile events and times. It might sound suspect, but the research is thorough. And the correlations are astounding.

When I said there is no rabbit hole I won't jump down, this is what I was talking about.

So get THIS: It may not surprise you to hear that the planetary alignments and transits overhead right now are eerily similar to those that occurred during another turbulent time in history: the 1930’s. We are in a volatile period of truly epic proportions both above and below.

Not exactly shocking news, considering the issues taking center stage right now in our country and in the entire world. But even though it isn’t shocking, I was kind of comforted to hear that this kind of insanity has happened before. Maybe not exactly like this, but a version of it.

So what do we do with this knowledge?

Here's what I take from it, and here's what I want to share:

If you are facing despair or loss of hope, take heart.

You are not crazy. You are not alone.

Others have endured tough times before us, and we are all going through this together.

And as turbulent as our world might appear, and as filled with angst as we might occasionally be, we've been through this before. And we survived, and in some cases even found a way to thrive.

And for now, in the wake of a stressful week, I’m okay. You’re okay. We’re okay. For the most part. We do what we can. We cling together. And we continue to walk each other home.

Sending you so much love and gratitude,

Lisa

P.S. If you're interested in learning more about archetypal astrology, my professor has a blog where she discusses current events, the archetypes in play, and how that relates to the planetary movements. You can find her here: https://beccatarnas.com/
